Water toxicity can swell the brain

Drinking more than 20 liters of water in a day can dilute sodium in the blood. This causes water to rush into the cells which lead to swelling of body organs, including brain. This can occur in endurance sporting events if athletes drink excessive water without added electrolytes. Can also occur in some medical and mental health conditions.
